VIGELAND+MUNCH

VIGELAND+MUNCH

For the Vigeland+Munch exhibition we traced both historical and contemporary maps of Berlin and Oslo and painted them directly on the walls of the exhibition. Pinning small polaroid style photographs to different areas on the maps allows the audience to explore the lives and whereabouts of the two artists.

THE HIDDEN BEAT - Art From The Beat Culture

THE HIDDEN BEAT - Art From The Beat Culture

A light box serving as a mini-show room presenting the Beat Art Collection - a largely unknown, but highly unique, collection of American Expressionism from San Fransisco and the Bay Area in the 50s and 60s.

Collected by Dr. Reidar Wennesland and donated to the two schools Kristiansand Cathedral School and University in Agder, both located in Kristiansand, Norway.

The solution has been produced and designed in the spirit of the Beat artists, focusing on the process together with mix and exploration of
materials and technique and, with this, invite to exploration.

Functioning as a miniature showroom it features informational brochures and along with slides. Its mobile nature allows the box to be displayed in a vast number of spaces and contexts.

The organic texture of the wooden plywood covers gives each cover a unique look – reflecting the uniqueness of the different artists.

MAPPLETHORPE +MUNCH

MAPPLETHORPE +MUNCH

Entering the Mapplethorpe +Munch exhibition at the Munch Museum, one walks underneath a big number of shredded large-scale banners. With the exhibition title printed white on the black banners, the entrance makes for a surprising play with perspectives as you pass through. The transition from ordinary life into the fictitious world of art thus becomes both a sensory and mind-cleansing experience.
